Gifts of Cash
A donation of cash is a simple and easy way for you to make a gift. You have the option of giving us an unrestricted gift of cash or you may direct us to use your gift in support of a specific area of interest at the Dallas Arboretum.
Here is a fun fact to consider. If you mail a check on December 31st and, even if the check is not received and cashed by Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Society, Inc. or its Foundation until after the new year, the IRS will allow you to take a deduction in the year the check was mailed? Keep this in mind for year-end tax planning!
What are the benefits of a gift of cash?
Quite simply, cash is a cushion that helps support the Dallas Arboretum's on-going efforts in the areas of research, education and gardening. By giving the Dallas Arboretum Foundation a gift of cash you will:
- Make an immediate impact on our mission; and
- Take a charitable income tax deduction.
How would I make a gift of cash?
Mailing a gift of cash - You can send a check or money order to the Dallas Arboretum Foundation at 8617 Garland Road, Dallas, Texas 75218. Please let us know if you want your gift used for a specific purpose by indicating that purpose either in the memo line or in an accompanying note.
Electronic Funds Transfer - If it is easier for you, talk to your bank about sending your gift via an Electronic Funds Transfer or EFT. Most banks can handle this for you further reducing the amount of effort it takes to make a gift to support the work of the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden. Give us a call and we can give you all the banking information that may be required to process the EFT.
Of course, your gift will be immediately acknowledged with the corresponding tax information.
