Establishment of a Family Endowment Fund within the Dallas Arboretum Foundation

Initial Establishment in a Dollar Amount Consistent with Your Interest Level and Becoming a Named Fund Once Your Balance Reaches $100,000

The Arboretum is able to establish, for your family, a Family Endowment Fund that would ensure continued excellence in a variety of areas. Deposited funds will be used to support one of the vital areas of the Arboretum's mission as well as support for the DeGolyer and Camp Homes, both of which will always remain an integral part our property.

Your Family Endowment Fund could include direction to and support of:

• Education for Youth and Adults
• Continuing the Art of Horticulture
• Research Conducted Via the Trial Program
• Support for Our Garden and Greenhouses
• Programming Throughout the Garden
• Unrestricted by the Family Endowment Fund and Directed to the Best Use by the Foundation's Leadership
• DeGolyer and Camp House Stewardship

The care of the DeGolyer House, recognized on the National Register of Historic Homes and Texas Historic Landmark List, is legally protected but in need of consistent care. The Camp House, a historically significant Dallas home designed by noted architect John Staub, is a gracious but aging 80 year old structure increasingly in need of attention. Both homes are significant in the early establishment and continued development of the Dallas Arboretum.

The Family Endowment Fund, as a part of the Dallas Arboretum Foundation, can be started at any amount and, at the point the principal reaches $100,000, it will become a named fund. A financial roll-off benefit of approximately 4% of principal per year would be directed to opportunities within your area of interest most in need of this support. By using a conservative roll-off percentage, the Arboretum can work to maintain the principal amount for the longest possible term thus ensuring your gift continues to make positive impacts for many years to come.
