Childhood STEM Educational Needs Endowment
Your gift into this restricted endowment fund is limited only by your comfort level
Children, nature, and learning are the perfect combination, particularly when all three come together at the Dallas Arboretum. By providing an endowment earmarked for Childhood STEM Educational needs, you can help us ensure that underserved children from the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex have access to the highest quality educational opportunities.
Children are actively involved in hands-on learning labs delivered in both outdoor and indoor labs as offered in our 66-acre "classroom," otherwise known as the renowned Dallas Arboretum. We understand that education takes many forms and are proud to provide a vibrant outreach and home-schooling program support as well.
A life-long love of learning can be coaxed from a very young age. By gearing the majority of our programs to children in grades K - 6, we believe we can encourage not just a love of learning but a love and understanding of science. By offering a wide variety of educational topics, the Dallas Arboretum can personalize a particular lab experience to reinforce the subjects taught in their daily classes.
The education mission at the Dallas Arboretum is to cultivate a connection to nature and inspire environmental stewardship through garden-based experiences, including educational tours, classes, and outreach programs. Your generous gift, in any amount that is comfortable for you, will assist us in furthering a child's understanding of and appreciation for the world in which they live.
Traditionally we receive an annual distribution of approximately 4% of the balance of your fund for use in STEM education at the Dallas Arboretum. The balance of your fund, sometimes called the corpus, remains untouched allowing it to grow year after year.
Additional gifts that you wish to make can be added at any time. Once your endowment fund reaches $100,000, it will become a named fund and credited on all STEM materials used and paid for by your named fund.
